Josh ended up taking advanced physics freshman year out of interest, and one day his professor started the unit on fluid dynamics and basic atmospheric physics, like you do. Because he was a pretty cool professor, he showed the class videos of people hang gliding. Josh, naturally, thought this was the coolest thing ever and decided to make one.

He got Ven into it right off, because dude, hang glider. He looked up gliders on the Internet and dragged Mau into figuring out how they worked. They spent the next three weeks making sad eyes at the machine shop, scavenging the theater and history departments, and building a bastardization of a glider out of, basically, stuff they found lying around. They finished just before midterms, and decided that they'd test it to celebrate.

So that Saturday night, Josh and Ven picked the lock on the university clock tower and the two of them dragged their makeshift glider up, somehow without security noticing. Mau was on the ground with a flashlight and the promise of the next ride if it worked, marking a landing zone for them. They strapped themselves in, said goodbye to sanity and launched themselves -- and it worked, for about five minutes. Then the glider started to fall, because they hadn't quite gotten the calculations right to rig it for two. Somehow, they managed to level it out and make an emergency crashlanding right near their landing zone, and come out of it with scrapes and bruises and an amazing story to tell; the glider was a total loss, sadly, but the story of the second time they rebuilt it is for another time.

Give me one for Edmund!
