WHAT AN ODD TEAM

That aside, hey, we all seem to be varying types of useful and ingenuity. Maleficent's game cemented that, as late as he was. Seeing KK and Hisoka really going at those negotiations was interesting. He hasn't tied into the whole team-is-important-first thing that everyone else has, though, so he wonders on a very low level wonder whether that will become an issue.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS ON JADE, KK?

PENDING. She is still sussing him out. Sometimes it takes her a while to develop a proper first impression, because once she's decided on it it pretty much becomes part of her convictions about a person and then it's hard to sway it one way or another. But she has come to like Jade already, even if she's not quite sure about him! Most importantly he seems to be gelling well with the team, it's nice to have another adult around, though she doesn't think he seems to be the type to go for any form of leadership role in the team. She is generally not jumping to any conclusions about him at this point, so it is a positive-ambivalent impression rather than the positive impression she has of the rest of the team.

Reverrrrrseee?

The fact that KK is 1) an adult, 2) is competent, and 3) willingly tested him wins her a lot of points. The whole trusting thing just because we're team isn't something that comes naturally to him at all, so it's good to see someone else with similar lines. AND THEN THERE WAS THE HIPPO DATE. That made him feel like an indulgent father/brother sending someone off on their first date with someone ~questionable~. Though he didn't really care about the questionable bit.

And the game. He still doesn't get the NO ONE IS TO BE LEFT BEHIND THING, but he's completely handwaved that by now since everything ended well. So as it stands, KK's still in the YOU AMUSE ME patch of Jade's organized mind because of the hippo date.

What kind of reaction did KK expect to get out of Jade about the whole plate-to-the-face thing?

She wanted to see whether he would be amused, intimidated, not react, or guess that she was messing about. They're all just interesting little ways to get to know a person. Because KK is a psychic, normally she doesn't have to use these little cues to get to know what a person's about - in her memories, she's completely sure of all her impressions. Because of that surety, she likes to work her way up to that without being a psychic in Aather. So little things like that are just to do that.

As far as the game's concerned, Knife thinks about half of her team might need to reconsider that coming back to life doesn't stop death being unpleasant. :'D

If Jade was a knight, would he choose Sterling or Onyx?

Man that's a tough one.

I think out of sheer practicality and that Mal would give him another skill on top of the one he'd get from entering the world as a knight, he'd join Onyx. That's two skills and having more skills would only benefit not only himself, but whoever else it's a good idea for him to be involved with. Otherwise he wouldn't really care about one or the other.

If Jade went knight after being a hero, how would KK feel?

His choice! His decisions. If he'd communicated with her about it, she would have advised him against it because it turns out that the knights have a pretty bad deal, especially right now. But if he decided to take an offer and become a knight, it wouldn't bother her especially much. It certainly wouldn't change any overture of friendship between them, because some of the people she is most loyal to and trusts most are knights. She doesn't differentiate much.

How much will it freak Jade out when KK can see into his head? Not much? Or A LOT.

At the moment, it won't bother him at all because he doesn't remember much of anything that is particularly damaging. But once he gets the whole Nebilim death thing, there will be such a shut down if Jade can tell she's snooping in his head. But until then, he'd probably take advantage of her snooping and think terrible thoughts like.... idk, Lloyd dressed as a flying hippo or something.

How much will KK freak out when she finds out Jade can replicate stuff?

KK is a scientist! The concept of "cloning" or "replicating" won't phase her, so the only time it would ever phase her is if he does something that she considers wrong with it. Then we're in different territory. But science is never bad, it is how you use science that can be bad! Etc.

What are Jade's thoughts on his caaast in Aather so far.

SOURCES OF AMUSEMENT, also we apparently traveled together. This is a source of something puzzlement for him at the moment, since so far the impressions he's gotten of his cast is rather ragtag. He's a colonel! Why is he with these random people who aren't in similar uniforms? In his memories, he doesn't seem too bothered about it, so it's not really worth worrying about, but it's something that doesn't entirely make sense.

What skill are you hoping KK gets back?

Faith was on his "he seems to be all right" list and was kind of edging his "... not sure what do with feelings" list, but uh. Your hippo thing totally ruined that.

Now you're on his "my, this person's sense of fun is interesting/questionable" list. HE WONDERS IF THIS IS LLOYD'S FAULT OR FAITH'S.

POSITIVE NEUTRAL? Jade seems like a competent nontsundere adult who will not explode! Which seems like something Emerald needs. He is an unknown quantity to Faith though (not enough memories back to establish what kind of person he'll set up to be) so Faith willll watch him. Since Emerald is one of his adopted teams and all and he'd hate to see it blow up more. :|a

Jade has also done a thing where he kind of gets up in Faith's space (headpats, helping him sit, etc) while still being kind of A STRANGER anddd that's a bit uncomfortable for Faith? But he deals with it. If Jade had arrived directly after he took his BAD RACISM memory though there would have been some snapping and avoidance.

What made you choose to app Jade as a hero rather than a Knight?

The headpat was part of the WHAT DO WITH THIS ~FEELINGS~ MOMENT THAT'S NOT MINE?

I still think on some level, Jade would be an interesting knight, in that his practicality > nobility/morals. But really, the only difference between him as a hero and him as a knight is the ability to give terrible quests and starting off with a skill. I think I could choose someone better to be a knight in my cast than Jade, though, so I opted to put him as a hero.

WHO IS FAITH'S FAVORITE TEAM

TOSSUP between Emerald and Tiger's Eye. Emerald is the team he adopted right from the very start and has the most really close meaningful relationships with in one team! Tiger's Eye has come closest to opening up and giving him an actual place in their team dynamic though, so he is most comfortable with them as a whole group.

What will Jade do if he encounters DRANK

Jade will be HIGHLY AMUSED and possibly guide him into doing relatively harmless but utterly embarrassing things. If kissed, HE WILL NOT STOP IT. HEY, CHANCE TO EXPERIMENT! Questionable consent is not an issue with Jade. \o/

What will Faith do if he finds out what Jade did with DRANK

HE'S NOT SURE WHAT TO MAKE OF JADE, like actually his first impression was pretty decent? Wary but decent! He has this feeling that he SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM HIM but at the same time Jade hasn't . . . done much yet which would make Konatsu worry too much. It's just his Troll Sense kicking in.

He actually didn't mind the kiss and a part of him wanted to keep going, out of curiosity and experimentation rather than really high enjoyment for it; it was the only kiss he had with anyone which wasn't either CONFUSED FEELINGS or THE OTHER PERSON HATES THIS. So it was kind of refreshing and he considered letting it go further just to see what it would be like without ~awkward feelings~. But he got nervous that if he did that he would DEVELOP awkward feelings and oh god no, so that's why he broke it off, ha ha.

MEMORY YOU ARE MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO FOR JADE

The worst part is that it would've been a one-sided awkward feelings relationship, Cruby.

He wouldn't AGREE to kissing Jade again. The quest kiss was like a limited time opportunity where he HAD to kiss someone so it was out of his hands! So hey if I learn a little about it at the same time that might be okay! But actually agreeing to kiss Jade/anyone just for funsies (or SCIENCE as the case may be) is something he would probably not be okay with. He's just too awkward about it. :'D He would have to be forced into it a second time, in a quest or a game or whatever, and then if it were once again out of his hands he might consent to it. It's the step of actually agreeing to it that would catch him up.

So is Jade going to top anyone else for experimentation purposes, I find this hilarious (WATCH OUT GUY)

IF THE SITUATION PRESENTS ITSELF AGAIN, SURE which bodes really bad things for Dusk if he shows up drunk around Jade ever. He might ~suggest~ things around Guy, but unwilling kissing only goes so far in providing valid information. It's fun! Just... not actually helping him learn more about this touchy-intimate thing. Also feelings wouldn't really go into this so. \o/

WHO WAS CRUBY'S FAVORITE KISS?

ASCH, which he feels slightly terrible about because oh god that should not have happened ever. But it was timed at a point where Konatsu had gotten over some of his initial awkwardness and was also getting tired of this quest taking so long and being so embarrassing, and then Asch goaded him into actually trying to kiss decently. So it was his first/only moment of "SCREW IT, I'M JUST GOING TO DO THIS!" and it ended up being the best kiss of the quest, even though Asch tasted like booze :/ So he feels awkward about that. Superrrrrr.

How bothered is Jade by not having his memories?

Not very! He's more bothered by his total rendered without whatever it was he was able to do that he doesn't remember yet. Especially now that he remembers he's a colonel. He should have some sort of subset of skills as a soldier, where did they go?! But he's kind of handwaved that for now since it's something Jade can't really control.

I don't know if he'll ever be in a scramble for memories. That'll depend on the order he gets them in, and so far he's gotten decent memories, so he's rather \o/

If you weren't Cruby of Ruby, which team would Konatsu want to be a part of?

HE LIKES RUBY! if he got forced to another team uh. He felt comfortable with Tiger's Eye in the last game they played together. And Sharon is on Kunzite, so possibly them!

Does Jade have any strong impressions of other teams as units so far?

Nnnnnot really. The only team he's dealt with as a whole so far is Peridot, back in his first game. Since it was just one game, and everyone wasn't sure what was going on until the second round of it, he doesn't really have anything to say about them either, other than they seem to work relatively well together.

Cubia seems all right! There's something slightly off, but Jade can't put his finger on it, so he's handwaving it for now. Jade's not really entirely sure what to make of Cubia since he can't neatly file him away in whatever category. At most he's someone important to Mytho.

Although something about how Cubia was rather :| about his heliobud quest amuses him.

REVERSEEE

Cubia thinks Jade is interesting! Because he's always smiling and happy, and that strikes Cubia as odd because that's what Cubia does to pretend things are okay! Therefore, he tends to gravitate towards Jade to see if he can find anything that makes him tick.

Jade on Emerald?

This outlines most of it. Basically he's pretty okay with the team he's ended up with, though he's not very close to any of them yet. Any judgments he could have about them he's withholding until he's been around longer. Plus there's no point to alienating oneself from one's team right off the bat.

Why did Cubia approach Jade initially?

a) Jade was on Emerald, which means he could be leverage for using Mytho sometime
b) because knowing new people and being connected is an advantage
c) he really does like meeting people.

Plans for Jade?

When he gets his fomicry abilities back, he will be testing them out like mad. I have it so he'll get the skill back before he gets the memory, although it'd be interesting to see how he would do things if he got the memory back first. I'm a little undecided on that.

I am terrible and also looking forward to his first in-game death, idek.

What is it about Mytho for Cubia?

Mytho is Cubia's security blanket. Though it started off differetly (Cubia being jealous and resentful of Mytho's lack of feelings and at the same time, feeling gloriously superior to him), Mytho says nice things about him which really helps Cubia's shoddy self-esteem, so he takes advantage of Mytho whenever he can, and if that means helping him out and being kind, so be it! He hasn't really noticed that he has developed something for Mytho and when confronted with it, he'll... bolt :D.

Hm. Favourite scene of Jade.

You are asking me to choose between Jade abuse and Jade trolling, that is seriously difficult I'll have you know.

Proooobably my favorite scene of Jade's is when Peony:
1) calls him "my Jade"
and then
2) cuddles "my cute little Jade" the rappig not long after.

I'm never quite sure if this is Peony purposely trolling him, or if he's serious, or if it's a mix of both. Either way, Jade has little to no weapons against any of it and it's not something he's pleased with having aired out in public! Sadly there is no one here yet who can top Jade like this.

Is there anyone in the .hack// series you'd want to see join aather?
